Hypnos use barrel shaped springs in their traditional pocket mattresses to ensure recovery after depression. Every pocket spring is nested in a honeycomb pattern by hand to ensure even support throughout the mattress, then tied through the centre of the pocket spring to guarantee that each spring operates independently of its neighbours. The pocket springs in the no-turn mattresses undergo a special heat treatment to make them extra-resilient to wear and tear.
The following fillings are available:
silk –sumptuously soft for touch of luxury; cashmere – all the benefits of hair and luxuriously soft; lambswool – for sumptuous softness, providing a micro-climate of warmth in the winter and coolness in the summer; hair – naturally resilient, it acts like millions of tiny springs, supporting through the life of the mattress; cotton felt – soft natural cotton, used in deep layers; latex – high quality hypo allergenic latex, a natural material with an in-built recovery memory used in many no-turn mattresses to keep the mattress plump and comfortable; reflex foam – in selected models, high recovery foam, fire-retardant foam is used; white fibre – soft resilient and moisture resistant; covers – strong cotton and soft, natural viscose fibres are used in covers, in traditional stripes or damasks. Stitching the border to the spring unit with strong twine by hand ensures a firm border and this, combined with the pocket spring frame, enables you to sleep right to the edge of the mattress, thus utilising the whole of the sleeping surface. All the Hypnos mattresses shown on our website are suitable for use on slatted bases with either sprung or fixed slats. If you think that turning a mattress might be a problem, you can choose a no-turn mattress. You might need to fit a mattress to an unusual sized or shaped bed, perhaps even round oval or heart-shaped; you might need additional length. Whatever your requirements we can provide a made to measure bed exclusively for you.
